Bischoff comes up empty; Evolution is explained

Sensing time is running out on him, Eric Bischoff took matters into his own hands this week on RAW. Leaving Chief Morley in charge of RAW for the night, Bischoff headed to Texas in an attempt to secure Stone Cold Steve Austin's return to RAW. When he arrived it his house, however, Bischoff learned that Austin was at a local bar.

Later in the evening, Bischoff finally arrived at the bar only to find out that Austin had left for another bar down the street. When he got there, though, Austin again was nowhere to be found. At this point, it started to become clear to Bischoff that he was on a wild goose chase and that he would not meet up with Austin on this evening.

Tommy Dreamer was scheduled to compete on RAW. But after his introduction, Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista took to the ring, destroying the King of the Singapore Cane. After decimating Dreamer, Triple H explained his theory of Evolution. According to The Game, Ric Flair is one of the business' greatest legends, Triple H is the only diamond this company has currently and Batista and Randy Orton are the next diamonds. Triple H concluded by saying that Evolution has just passed you by.

The highly anticipated Kane vs. Rob Van Dam match ended in disqualification when Jeff Hardy ran to ringside and attacked both men. After the match, Shawn Michaels came to the ring and told Jeff that he had to make a decision and stick with it, much like HBK did when he kicked Marty Jannetty through the Barber Shop window 15 years ago. An angry Hardy said his decision was to kick some ass in WWE. He then claimed that he was going to start with Michaels. Before Hardy could even get out of the gate, however, he was met with a Superkick by Shawn Michaels.

Finally, Scott Steiner defeated Chris Jericho in a match to determine the No. 1 Contender to Triple H's World Heavyweight Championship. Steiner will now face The Game at No Way Out.
