Monday Nitro

Nassau Colisseum, Uniondale, New York
September 25, 2000

In the most anticipated Nitro of the year, WCW creative brass Vince Russo stepped into the ring with the intention of realizing his childhood dream of holding the world title. Although the Caged Heat surrounded the ring, it didn't stop several competitors from getting involved in the melee. In the end, the world was left with one burning question -- who was the WCW Champion?

Outside, Jeremy Borash and Vince Russo arrived at the Nassau Coliseum in a stretch limousine.

Stickball Bat vs. Kendo Stick Match -- I Quit Match
Johnny The Bull d. Big Vito
Vito's younger sister, Maria was sitting in the front row to watch the action. Once the bell rang, Vito was all business as he took it to his former tag team partner. Johnny came back strong, using the stick as a weapon over Vito's head. The two dared each other to hit with the sticks, with Vito getting the best of the exchange. The Bull got tied in the bottom rope and Vito took advantage and slammed him with the stickball bat. Reno arrived, attacking Vito in the corner as he was hung upside down. Maria ran into the ring and covered her brother's body, stopping the attack.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash "coached" Russo on as they walked down the hallway.

From this past weekend, David Flair assaulted a man on the street as he looked up the "baby's father's" address at a phone booth.

Interview: Vince Russo, Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner with Midajah
Jarrett berated the crowd, telling them that Vince Russo would win the title later in the night. Big Poppa continued the insults, aiming his words toward one of the New York Jets, Jumbo Elliot, in the crowd. Russo and Borash came to the ring and the boss was ready to address his hometown. Vince compared himself to the legendary sports figures, stating that his name would be up in the rafters after the night was over. Russo trashed Atlanta and John Rocker, before turning his attention to the main event. Sting and Booker appeared on the screen, telling Vinnie Ru to turn around and look. When he did, he saw Bill Goldberg in the crowd, making his presence known on Russo's biggest night.

Backstage, Mike Sanders delivered a message to Kronik from Vince Russo -- they would not be able to participate in the battle royal.

WCW Tag Team Title Match
Tag Team Battle Royal
Winners - Sean O'Haire and Mark Jindrak
As the tag team title battle royal got underway, 3 Count and The Jung Dragons went at it. The Harris Boys gave "Sugar" Shane an H-Bomb before Jindrak and O'Haire tossed Helms over the ropes through a table. Kronik came out and eliminated The Harris Brothers, before setting their sights on the rest of the competitors. WCW security ran in and maced Adams and Clark, taking them to the back in cuffs. The Juice and Mysterio, Jr. went to work on Jindrak and O'Haire, but the massive rookies used their strength to take over. DISQO arrived and helped to eliminate Juvi, but Konnan chased the former Animal to the back. Rey fought valiantly, but was soon knocked over the top, making Sean O'Haire and Mark Jindrak the new WCW Tag Team Champions.

Backstage, Torrie Wilson oiled up for the upcoming bikini contest.

Mean Gene Interview: Howard Stern's Wack Pack and Pamela Paulshock
Gene talked with the Wack Pack as Kevin Nash, Jindrak and O'Haire crashed the interview, saying it was time for the new champions to be in the spotlight.

Hardcore Handicapped Match
"That '70s Guy" Mike Awesome d. ICP
ICP came into the ring and challenged "That '70s Guy" Mike Awesome to a hardcore handicapped match. Awesome arrived in his bus, blowing a fire extinguisher into the clown's faces to start the match. Shaggy 2 Dope and Awesome fought to the top of the bus, as Violent J set up a table on the floor. Awesome sent J through the table, before delivering an Awesome Bomb on Shaggy up on top. Dope fell off the bus to the floor, where Awesome made the cover for the win.

Backstage, Major Gunns prepared in front of the mirror for the big contest.

In another pre-taped segment, David Flair drove around looking for the house of the father. He ran into a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant, throwing around the balls in the play area as he continued his search.

Interview: The Cat and Miss Jones
The commissioner made the announcement that if Jarrett, Steiner, Nash or The Thrillers interfered in the WCW Title match, they would be fired immediately. Mike Sanders came to the ring, telling The Cat that he had five seconds to reverse his decision. Miller didn't wait, however, attacking Russo's stooge to the delight of the Long Island crowd. "Coach" Nash came out and sent his Thrillers in one by one to destroy the commish, as he looked on with a smile.

Backstage, Paisley and Tygress complimented each other on their contest apparel.

WCW Bikini Competition
Winner - Pamela Paulshock
Crackhead Bob, High Pitch Jerry, Beetlejuice, Fred the Elephant Boy and Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf came out as the official judges. Chae was in first, followed by Nitro Girl Chiquita and Torrie Wilson. Tygress and Paisley were in next, removing each other's robes. Leia Meow entered in, with Major Gunns finally joining the contest. Gunns revealed a red, white, and blue bikini as "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan came out to the ring, telling her to shut her mouth. He covered the Major up with the Canadian flag, eliminating her from the contest. Pamela, who was wearing a fur coat, said it was getting hot as she removed the coat, revealing an amazing bikini. Although she stated that she wasn't in the competition, all of the Wack Pack voted for Pamela, making her the winner. Leia Meow grabbed Pam by the hair, threatening to whip her. Midajah ran out and pulled Meow away, starting a brief catfight before security arrived.

Mike Tenay Interview: Scott Steiner
As Tenay asked Steiner about the return of Goldberg, Bill jumped Big Poppa, slamming him into a set of lighting cases.

Interview: DISQO
DISQO, with his duck in hand, said that he was done with The Filthy Animals. He introduced his new partner. His new partner never arrived, but Scott Steiner did, crushing DISQO and throwing him to the outside before taking the mic.

Caged Heat
Bill Goldberg d. Scott Steiner
Steiner challenged Bill Goldberg to come out and fight. Bill accepted the challenge, but only if it was in the Caged Heat. Steiner tried to run, but Goldberg caught him, choking him with a camera cord. Once inside the cage, the fight got brutal as both men used their immense power to try and destroy each other. Big Poppa did a set of push-ups after coming off the ropes with a huge clothesline. Midajah ran into the cage and handed Scott a lead pipe, who used it to his advantage. As Steiner tried to leave the cage, Jumbo Elliot blocked his way at the door, allowing Bill to attack. In the end, it was Goldberg who walked out of the cage the victor.

Backstage, Jeff Jarrett took a six-stringer over the head of Beetlejuice after he called The Chosen One "Slapnuts."

Pamela Paulshock Interview: Booker T
The WCW Champion said he was bringing backup to the ring in his match against Vince Russo.

Jeff Jarrett d. General Rection
Jarrett stomped on Rection as he yelled to the NY audience. Rection powered back, taking The Chosen One down to the canvas. Lance Storm came out to distract the referee, but when Elix Skipper tried to attack, Rection fought him off. As the General went to the top for a moonsault, Duggan slammed the 2x4 over Rection's back. Jarrett applied The Stroke and got the 1-2-3 for the win. Team Canada delivered a beat down until Sting appeared for the save. Storm challenged Sting to a match, which was immediately accepted.

Sting d. Lance Storm
Storm and Sting went head to head right away, with Lance getting a commanding upper hand. The Stinger reversed a leg sweep attempt, throwing the Canadian Champion to the mat. As the action spilled to the floor, Storm introduced Sting's back to the steel guardrail. The Stinger reversed a bodypress off the top for a close two-count. After a splash in the corner, Sting went for the Scorpion Deathlock, which was quickly reversed into a Maple Leaf submission by Lance. The move was broken and, after a flurry of counters, Storm went down to Sting with a devastating Scorpion Deathdrop.

In the ongoing search for the baby's father, David arrived at the doorstep of the man he was looking for. He walked into the house, storming through, asking the owner where "he" was hiding. David found out that it was actually the house next door he was looking for. He gave the neighbor a message to give to the "father."

Mean Gene Interview: Vince Russo
Vinnie Ru, dressed in full New York Giants football gear, said he didn't care who Booker brought to the ring with him -- he was winning the gold.

WCW World Title match
Caged Heat
Vince Russo vs. Booker T
Jeremy Borash joined the other announcers at ringside for the main event. Booker shook hands with the fans, as The MIA, Jung Dragons, and Kwee-Wee made their way around the cage. Russo attacked Booker with a bat at the start, before commandeering a ladder. He set it in the ring and climbed toward the top. The wrestlers on the outside climbed up to block him, and Sting came from the ceiling for extra backup. Booker removed Russo's helmet, exposing the head that sustained numerous concussions over the last few months. T continued the onslaught, throwing the boss into the cage hard. Lex Luger arrived, sliding a lead pipe into the cage to Russo. After Mickey Jay was blasted with the pipe, other officials and EMTs entered the cage to help. Russo attacked them as well, but one of the EMTs revealed himself to be Ric Flair. The Nature Boy jumped Vince and slapped him in the figure four. The Natural Born Thrillers arrived as well, but were stopped by the wrestlers on the outside. Booker was about to exit the cage, when Goldberg's music stopped him in his tracks. Bill entered and as T started to leave, Scott Steiner smashed the cage door on him. The champion pushed the door back on Big Poppa and walked out, seemingly at the same time Goldberg speared Russo through the cage.
