- We start with video clips from
last week when Samoa Joe lost the X Division Title thanks to Scott Steiner's
interference and Jim Cornette setting up the big announcement for tonight's
show.
- After Mike Tenay set the stage for the show, Christian Cage came to the ring
without the NWA Title. Christian took the mic and said there would be a company
meeting later on, but he didn't want to wait around for the political b.s. He
called out Sting because he had something to say. Sting came out. Christian said
he was going to get to the point. He said he knows Cornette will give him the
NWA Title and if Sting wants a title shot, he can have it. Christian told Sting
to have the balls to say it to his face. Sting called Christian Jeff Jarrett. He
said he thought he was talking to Christian. "Don't tell me you just didn't call
me Jeff Jarrett?" Christian asked indignantly. "Am I wearing white pants? Do I
look like an ass to you?" Sting said he does look like an ass then told him to
shut up for once. Sting said he once was once in Christian's postion where he's
cracking under pressure second guessing people around them. He said he went to
Cornette to set up a tag match on next week's show, not to ask for a title shot.
He said Cornette granted his wish for Sting and Christian vs. Jarrett and Scott
Steiner. Sting told him that they're on the same page. Christian covered Sting's
mic. "I get it," he said. "Next week on Impact, it's Showtime." Well, that's a
good start to the show. I believe that was Sting's best promo since the
retirement speech. This wasn't a soccer dad promo; this was edgy.

- Jeremy Borash was backstage with Steiner and Jarrett. Steiner said Sting isn't
big enough, strong enough, or powerful enough to match up with the man with the
world's largest arms. Jarrett cut off Borash. He said Cornette has no option or
choice but to give him the NWA Title because he backed Cornette into the corner.
Jarrett claimed to have outsmarted Cornette, every wrestler, and every fan. "I
may be the most hated man in wrestling, but I'm also the smartest," Jarrett
said. He said Cornette has no choice but to crown him champion. Steiner closed
by asking Samoa Joe if he's learned his lesson yet.
1 -- TEAM CANADA (PETEY WILLIAMS & ERIC YOUNG w/Bobby Roode and Scott D'Amore)
vs. CHRIS SABIN & JAY LETHAL
D'Amore came to the ring sporting a neck brace. Petey jumped Sabin before the
opening bell, but Lethal made the save to begin working on Canada. Eric Young
went for an Honest Abe handshake with Sabin, but Petey caught Sabin from behind
with a reverse slam. Young had a chance to cheat for his team, but he decided
against it because he was afraid of being fired.
[Commercial Break]
Petey was about to do the crotch stand in the Tree of Woe to sing Oh Canada on
Sabin, but Eric Young stopped Petey from cheating. D'Amore slapped Young to get
him back in the match. Petey reached out for a tag, but Eric didn't take the
tag. Young eventually took the tag as Tenay continued to promote someone being
fired on the show. Young and Petey exchanged tags working on Sabin in the heel
corner. D'Amore became frustrated with Young, who refused to cheat. Sabin
avoided a double team move off the ropes then torpedoed Petey into Young's
midsection. Lethal took a hot tag and cleaned house. He hit a German suplex with
bridge on Petey for a nearfall. Lethal dropkicked Roode and A-1 through the
ropes then Sabin flew over the top rope with a somersault dive. Alex Shelley and
Johnny Devine came to the ringside area and distracted the babyfaces. That
allowed Roode to shove Lethal off the top rope leading to Petey hitting the
Canadian Destroyer for the win. Afterwards, Young shook the referee's hand and
the Canadians slapped him on the back of the head. Tenay said Cornette needs to
do something about the interference.
WINNERS: Team Canada at 9:37. Eric Young made this match. He continues to adapt
his character to each match story and enhance the action in the ring. Good set
up for Cornette's decision later in the show.
- They showed clips of Shane Douglas giving Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens a pep
talk while they did push-ups.
2 -- MONTY BROWN vs. NORMAN SMILEY
Two matches in one segment. Brown pounded on Smiley with clubbing forearms.
Smiley went on the offensive with closed fist punches and uppercuts to the face.
Brown came back with a clothesline off the ropes. Brown hit the Pounce for the
"we've seen it 800 times" match finish.
WINNER: Monty Brown at 1:34. Just there. A way to fill two minutes of time with
a squash match. The formula established Brown in 2004, but it's time to take it
to the next level. That is, if Brown is capable.

3 -- AMERICA'S MOST WANTED (CHRIS HARRIS & JAMES STORM w/Gail Kim) vs. TEAM 3D
(BROTHER RAY & BROTHER DEVON w/Brother Runt) -- No DQ match
AMW came out first. They ran to the babyface entrance ramp and stood behind the
entrance tunnel. Team 3D walked out and AMW blindsided them with clubbing
forearms. The match began on the outside in typical PPV fashion with ringside
brawling. The action spilled into the ring and Storm hit a superplex on Ray from
the top rope. AMW hit a double suplex on Devon then went for a cover for a
nearfall. They barked at the referee then posed for the hard camera.
[Commercial Break]
Brother Ray tossed a trashcan full of weapons into the ring. Devon caned Storm
over the head. The fans chanted "T-N-A." Ray drove a crutch to Harris's crotch.
Harris came back with a top rope leg drop. Blood was pouring from the top of
Harris's head following the cane shot. Ray no-sold a trashcan shot to the head
from Gail Kim. Ray slammed Kim then Runt slammed a gulf club into a trashcan lid
that was positioned over Gail's crotch. Team 3D hit a double-team slam. They
went under the ring for tables, but Harris recovered and drop kicked the table
into Team 3D. AMW set up the table on the outside. Storm went for a powerbomb on
Devon, but Devon back dropped him to the padding on the floor. Harris rolled
Devon into the ring then went for a trashcan shot, but Storm brought a beer
bottle into the ring and wanted to attack Devon. They argued over who should use
a weapon. Harris went for a can shot, but Devon ducked and Storm took the can to
the head. Team 3D hit the 3D on Storm for the win.
WINNERS: Team 3D at 9:07. Both teams are more capable than a watered down
weapons match.
- The James Gang came out and introduced their third man as the ugliest, baddest,
and toughest man from the family tree. Abyss ran into the ring from behind. B.G.,
who must feel left out, told them he had two words: turn around. He cleared Ray
and Devon then Runt kicked him in the groin. Runt went for the Acid Drop, but
Abyss caught him in the air and tossed him over the top rope through the table
ringside. B.G. did a J.R. impersonation commenting on Runt appearing to be
broken in half.

- Wrestlers were gathered around the ring for the first ever TNA company
meeting. Jim Cornette was center ring for the public meeting. His first order of
business was to address LAX. He said they believe they are discriminated
against. One fan screamed, "They are!" during a pause. He told them that a work
stoppage means a check stoppage. He said they're hiring at Jiffy Lube. Cornette
addressed Scott D'Amore. He said all of Team Canada is under individual
contracts, but the team is disbanded permanently. D'Amore nearly fainted. He
addressed AMW. Cornette said there would be a six-person tag match at the July
PPV pitting AMW and Gail Kim vs. Styles & Daniels & "that big amazon woman."
Tenay over-reacted. Cornette said the NWA Tag Titles would be on the line.
Cornette searched for Earl Hebner. Hebner smiled and waved his hand. Pretty
funny. He brought Hebner, Zbyszko, and Jarrett into the ring. Steiner
accompanied Jarrett. Cornette said they've been friends for 20 good years and
referees should be held accountable for their actions. Cornette fired Hebner for
his actions at Slammiversary. Hebner screamed at Cornette, who told him to pick
up his check and leave. Eric Young celebrated not being fired. Cornette said
he's sick of hearing about Montreal and he's not letting it go any further.
Cornette talked to Zbyszko, whose contract has guaranteed money attached to it.
Cornette said Zbyszko must perform according to the contract or he would breach
the contract. He said performance includes being booked in wrestling matches.
The fans cheered. Cornette said he understands Zbyszko and Raven don't like each
other very much. He booked Raven and Zbyszko in a hair vs. hair match at the
July PPV. Raven was expressionless from the top of the entrance. Cornette said
Zbyszko could walk out and breach the contract. Zbyszko said Cornette would like
him to do that. "Actually, yeah, I would," Cornette said. Zbyszko called
Cornette a clown.
Cornette brought up the NWA Title. He said it's going to be a tough decision.
Cornette said he thinks titles should be won and lost in the ring. He didn't
want to hand the title to someone because he's the son-in-law. Cornette said
Christian and Sting were about to win at Slammiversary before Jarrett's
treachery began. Cornette said he understands that the fans want to see Jeff
Jarrett pounded into a pile of country grave. The fans cheered. Cornette said
he's going to get the four toughest men in TNA and they would wrestle a four-way
match at the July PPV. He named Christian Cage, Sting, Scott Steiner, and Samoa
Joe. Jarrett couldn't figure out what was going on. The fans popped and chanted,
"Joe, Joe." Joe stared down Steiner with a glaring smirk. Cornette said whomever
comes out of that match as the winner would be the #1 Contender and face Jeff
Jarrett later in the PPV. Cornette said his back was against the wall then he
said the belt is Jarrett's for now, but he doesn't think it would be Jarrett's
for very long. The fans booed. Jarrett was handed the belt. He took the mic and
said he doesn't have to deal with Cornette, but Cornette has to deal with him.
Jarrett did one of his pretentious promos then called out Christian and Sting to
have their match now. Christian and Sting hit the ring. Sting had the first blow
then four-way action broke down in the ring. Christian and Steiner squared off
as Sting and Jarrett squared off. Joe came up behind Steiner and applied the
Kokina Clutch on the entrance ramp. Steiner flailed his arms as Joe cinched it
in to close the show.
