Conway continues to flounder. Disappointing opener.

Val Venis vs Fred Sampson
Usual reaction for Val who leaves his towel in the corner this week. Val and Sampson lock up jostling around the ring before settling in the corner where Val backs off with a clean break. Sampson complains about a non existent hair pull. Val with a side headlock and shoulder tackle. Sampson comes back with the same two maneuvers before charging into a Val hiptoss after getting some crowd heat. Val follows up with an armdrag into an armbar. A groggy Sampson goes to cut off an Irish whip but Val reels him back in catching him with a half nelson slam. Val heads to the top rope finishing proceedings with the Money Shot. 1-2-3. Good showcase/match. I sound like a broken record but I'll keep saying it, Val Venis is badly underutilised. Here is Your Winner: VAL VENIS. Coachman can't believe Val has won as he towels then kisses a mother in the crowd much to the disgust of her partner who gets up to have a go at Val who in turn simply ignores him and walks LOL.

For fellow UK fans. Late Night ECW debuts on Sky Sports 3 at 11PM beginning this Thursday 7th September. At least it's an improvement on a heavily edited Sunday morning slot.

Viscera & Charlie Haas vs The Highlanders
The heels come out together to Viscera's music. Lilian still announces them both with no malice in her voice. The Highlanders get a small pop. Welcome to Heat. The Highlanders have a game of slaps to determine who starts with Rory winning out. Viscera shoves Rory down who gets back up to club at Viscera's chest but Viscera shoves him back down again. Rory charges into a clothesline. Viscera slams Rory before Haas lands a couple of waistlock takedowns and some clubs to Rory's face. Haas and Rory roll around the ring into the heels corner before Haas goes and plays to the crowd bragging. Rory decks Haas with a punch. Haas comes back to boot the gut, Rory reverses off the ropes, Haas goes for a sunset flip but Rory lifts his kilt and drops down onto Haas. Rory with a boot then drives Haas into the head of Robbie. Rory uses his partner as a battering ram to send Haas through the ropes to the outside. Viscera urges his partner to come on as we cut to a commercial break. We come back to see Robbie avoid a Haas lunge and club him down. Haas telegraphs Robbie's backbodydrop attempt with a boot to the head. Haas lands a double leg takedown then holds Robbie down as Viscera drops an elbow across his back. Viscera and Haas proceed to talk trash to Lilian as Viscera remarks they don't need her as he and Haas have each other. Hey whatever floats your boat Viscera. Viscera proceeds to slap and squash Robbie in the corner before hiptossing him down. Viscera slams Robbie then holds him in a seated position allowing Haas to kick Robbie in the back....hard. Haas stomps on Robbie's back and hand before driving his head into the corner then Irish whipping. Haas walks into three Robbie elbows but Haas recovers to boot the gut and nail a belly-to-belly suplex for a nearfall. Haas drives knees into Robbie's back before applying a chinlock then an arm stretch. Robbie refuses to quit, punches his way free but Haas regains control with a knee to the gut and club to the back. Haas throws Robbie down, Viscera lands a falling headbutt across the back and applies a rear naked choke on the mat. Viscera has assumed the Visagra position during this resthold. Robbie punches free but charges into a Viscera rolling heel kick. Haas continues to stomp and punch on Robbie who punches back. Haas counters an Irish whip with an exploder suplex. Rory rallies for his team taking Haas down with two double back axehandles and a backbodydrop. Rory ducks a Viscera lunge. Rory unloads on the big man with punches. Rory fails to take Viscera down with a flying shoulder tackle or clothesline. Viscera Irish whips Rory into the fallen Robbie. Viscera goes for a slam, Rory slips behind, the Highlanders fail to hit the Scot Drop on Viscera after a double boot to the gut. Haas misses both Highlanders with a leaping cross body off the ropes but fortunately for him Viscera catches. Unfortunately for the heels The Highlanders hit a double dropkick to put them both down. Viscera and Haas go outside to divide and conquer. Viscera slaps Rory down while Haas and Robbie get back in and briefly exchange blows until Haas deposits Robbie over the top rope. Haas goes for a double axehandle off the ring apron but Robbie catches him with a gut punch. Meanwhile, Viscera throws Rory into the guardrail. Robbie attacks Viscera with punches only for Haas to come back into the equation as the referee calls for the bell. Haas spears Rory down as all four men go at it with the referee continually calling for the bell. The action continues as Haas chokes Rory with his boot. Viscera sends Robbie into the ringpost, Robbie dodges a charge resulting in Viscera clotheslining the steel. Grisham specualtes on a new feud heating up. Coach calls this one of the best main events on Heat in quite some time as more referees come down to keep Viscera and Haas from the Highlanders. The heels are finally ushered back up the ramp but Rory charges forwards and continues the tussle with Haas and Viscera on the entrance ramp as all hell breaks loose and the referees continue to try and separate them. No official announcement was made but this one has been thrown out. Call it a double countout/no contest.

Grisham notes we're out of time and quickly signs off as Heat fades to black. End of show. A good squash match and a solid, heated main event leads me to give this show a thumbs up with best match going to the main event. Hopefully a new feud is born here. Get Cade, Murdoch, Val Venis and partner involved then build towards Tag Team Turmoil or something for Unforgiven. Give these teams a shot at the Spirit Squad. I'll see you next week. Until then, take care and have a good one. Shaun.
