Happy Fathers Day. First off a big thank you to all that have voted so far on my Velocity awards. The response has been great and there's still time to vote as the deadline/posting of results isn't until Wednesday night. Details can be found in the columns section of this site but I'll re-post the nominations in a day or two. On the week that DX reformed (coincidentally just like at Vengeance four years ago) and ECW took us through a rollercoaster ride in terms of programming quality it's now time for Heat so let's send it in to Lilian Garcia for our first match.

Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs Scott Fowler & Jonathan McCulley
Murdoch grabs a mic. After introducing himself and his partner Murdoch says due to recent victories from a certain individual they're on their way back up, that's right number one tonight they're gonna show (Fowler & McCulley) step by step how it's going to get done. After Murdoch tells someone to shut their hole, Cade looks set to start with McCulley but Murdoch still has the mic on the apron resulting in the heels providing commentary throughout the match. Murdoch tells Cade to introduce himself. Cade slaps McCulley, Cade mockingly shakes McCulley's hand before kicking him into the corner. Cade chops, Irish whips and clotheslines McCulley. Murdoch requests a tag. Cade sends McCulley off the ropes into an inverted atomic drop before Murdoch delivers a boot to the face complete with sound effects. Cade takes over on the mic requesting the other goof to get in. Murdoch shoves McCulley to his corner where Fowler reluctantly tags in. Murdoch beats Fowler down before backelbowing off the ropes as Cade puts his partner over on the mic. Murdoch delivers some slaps to Fowler as Cade continues to talk. Cade says Texas is in the South where real men come from to get some heat from the crowd. Cade tags as Murdoch holds Fowler for a boot. Cade drives Fowler's head into the corner before clubbing and choking with his hands. Murdoch rips on Fowler saying it must be embarrasssing getting his ass kicked and have someone do commentary. It's about as embarrassing as Brent Rossemberger falling off his bike which draws more heat. Grisham clears things up for us not in America saying Murdoch was referring to a Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback falling off his Motorcycle. Cade brings Fowler out of the corner to club him down. Cade picks Fowler up, sends him off the ropes, Fowler telegraphs a backbodydrop with a boot but Cade immediately drives Fowler into the corner where he is the recipient of forearms, boots and a hand choke. Murdoch mockingly tries to get some comments from Fowler who can't respond. After Murdoch sings to the crowd Cade and Murdoch deliver their Sweet 'N' Sour (Clothesline, Legsweep) combo and Cade covers for the 1-2-3. Here Are Your Winners: LANCE CADE & TREVOR MURDOCH. Post match Cade picks Fowler's head up announcing on his part his thinking that Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch are going to be the next World Tag Team Champions before agreeing with him. Something different to start us off this week which was pretty good at serving to get Cade and Murdoch over especially Cade who doesn't get much mic time. They had some good heat with the crowd and are still unbeaten since reteaming. Coach puts them over for doing something different.

Victoria vs Mercedes Martinez
Both Divas look hot. Victoria controls at the start with a side headlock takedown. Martinez maneuvers into a reversal, Victoria hooks a headscissors, Martinez nips over into a cover with a bridge for a couple of nearfalls. Victoria pushes back up, Martinez grabs an arm sends Victoria off the ropes, Victoria telegraphs a backbodydrop with a shot to the head before throwing Martinez down twice by the hair then dragging her around the ring by the hair. Victoria with a slap and a kick to put Martinez down. Victoria goes to get her up, Martinez throws a couple of kicks and punches before sending Victoria off the ropes into a dropkick. Martinez boots the gut then hits a northern lights suplex for a nearfall. Martinez with some forearms sends Victoria off the ropes for a clothesline no Victoria counters by bringing Martinez's head down across her knee. Victoria boots before applying a standing chinlock to Martinez along the top rope. Victoria pulls on the neck in the top rope before snapping it back. Grisham notes it was Victoria who broke Beth Phoenix's jaw. Coach says she hasn't apologised to protect her spot. Victoria talks trash before pulling Martinez up and finishing her off with the Widow's Peak. 1-2-3. Good match. Both women looked good with some good offense by Martinez. I'd sign her. Here is Your Winner: VICTORIA. Post match Victoria wipes her feet by Martinez before leaving to signify job done.

Matt Striker vs Tim Arson
Striker comes out with a mic to begin. After telling us he is Matthew Striker our teacher Striker lets us know the young man in the ring is a graduate of Penn State University. The crowd cheer. Striker says that's not something to be proud of as he graduated from a real school. The University of Michigan. Crowd boos. Tonight Striker will teach us aswell as Timothy a lesson so please chime the metallic device. Tim Arson was the Zombie from ECW this past week by the way. Striker is sporting argyle pants. Striker starts with a side headlock using the hair to keep the advantage. Arson sends off the ropes, Striker hits a shoulder tackle. Striker steps over Arson who in turn leapfrogs before scoring with a monkey flip and standing dropkick. Striker begs off in the corner before going to Arson's eyes and punching him down. Striker places Arson in the second rope before kicking at the rope. Striker places Arson standing up in the ropes then dropkicks him in the back to hang him upside down. Striker hits a second dropkick to drop Arson to the floor. Striker pulls Arson back in for a couple of nearfalls. Striker applies a reverse chinlock, Arson tries to punch free before using a jawbreaker to escape. Arson hits two clotheslines, Striker reverses an Irish whip but charges into an uppercut. Striker staggers back then charges into a drop toehold into the second turnbuckle. Arson starts to punch until the referee pulls him back. Arson goes for a side russian legsweep but Striker blocks by grabbing the top rope resulting in Arson hitting the mat. Striker points to his head before delivering some mounted mat punches to the head. Striker with an elbowdrop off the ropes. Striker delivers some kicks and more punches to the head. Striker backs away, calms himself down before getting Arson up on his shoulders and finishing him off with an impressive three move combo. A TKO across the knee, a neckbreaker drop then a DDT. 1-2-3. Like the previous match a good squash with Arson being allowed to get some offense in. Striker's getting better and is starting to grow on me a little. Here is Your Winner: MATT STRIKER.

Rob Conway vs Snitsky
Main Event time. Snitsky receives a hometown announcement and pop to match but comes out alone following Goldust's no-show at these tapings which led to his release. I don't think Snitsky will last too much longer either by himself but he is better served as a face so if they don't turn him he might do fine for a little while. A small Snitsky chant breaks out at the start. Conway talks trash so Snitsky sticks his tongue out with a menacing pose. Conway tries to work the arm, Snitsky shoves him into the corner. Snitsky advances missing a lunge allowing Conway to forearm and boot. Snitsky reverses an Irish whip, Conway rebounds into a hiptoss then two scoop slams. Conway rolls to the outside for a breather. Conway gets back in. A lockup leads to Snitsky backing Conway to the corner. The referee intervenes, Conway rakes the face boots the gut and forearms before going for a suplex which Snitsky reverses. Snitsky sizes Conway up for a big boot, Conway moves as Snitsky crotches himself on the ropes. Conway clubs and forearms the back before taking Snitsky to his knees with a chopblock. Conway clotheslines Snitsky down before dropping a series of elbows for a nearfall. Conway disputes the count, Snitsky tries to punch back but Conway hits a running knee to the head to put Snitsky out onto the apron. Conway chokes with his hands then his boot before dropping Snitsky to the floor with a running tackle. Conway off the apron drops an elbow onto Snitsky's head before mocking Snitsky's customary pose. Conway puts Snitsky back in and after three consecutive one counts Conway applies a rear naked choke. Snitsky doesn't drop his arm a third time as he gets up and begins to elbow free. Conway applies a front facelock but Snitsky drives then shoves him to the corner to escape. Conway charges into an inverted atomic drop. Snitsky punches Conway down twice. Snitsky with a slam then a sidewalk slam. Snitsky fires up before clotheslining Conway with Conway doing a 360 in mid air. Snitsky sends Conway off the ropes who telegraphs a backbodydrop with a swinging neckbreaker. Conway gets up first runs the ropes but Snitsky catches with a big boot. 1-2-3. Here is Your Winner: SNITSKY. Quite a passable match. Conway showed more than the usual resthold of doom but alas his slump continues.

As Snitsky poses Grisham signs off, thanking us for watching to end the show. There was some good wrestling on show this week. Nothing bad happened so I'll give the show a thumbs up. Heat would be a better show though if some more angles/storylines took precedent over all of the Raw recaps. Anyways I'll be back in the week for the Velocity awards then again next weekend for Heat. Until then take care. Shaun.
