The fireworks went off in the arena for the start of Sunday Night Heat as The
Coach and Marc Loyd welcomed us to the show. We then go down to ringside for the
opening
match of the night.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Referee: Earl Hebner
Steven Richards vs. Shelton Benjamin (c)
The music of Shelton Benjamin hit in the arena as he made his way to the ring as
the Intercontinental Champion, and he will be going one on one with Steven
Richards here
on Heat!
The start:
Shelton Benjamin and Steven Richards locked it up, and Shelton took Steven down
to the mat and locked in an arm bar. Shelton wrenched on the arm of Richards and
drove
his elbow into the shoulder of Stevie Night Heat. Steven escaped and charged at
Shelton, but Shelton hit a pair of arm drags and went back to the arm bar,
continuing to
wear down the arm and shoulder of Richards. Steven backed Shelton to the corner,
but Shelton again came out with an arm drag and went right back to the arm bar
on
Richards.
The Finish:
Shelton Benjamin scored with his T-Bone Exploder Suplex to pick up the victory
over Steven Richards and retain his Intercontinental Championship.

Viscera vs. Val Venis
The music of Viscera hit in the arena as he made his way out to the ring for the
next match here on Heat against Val Venis.
The start:
Viscera and Val Venis locked it up and Viscera powered Venis down to the mat.
They locked up again and Val hit some right hands but they had no effect on Big
Vis. Val
charged at Viscera with some shoulder blocks, but Viscera wouldn't budge. Val
then hit Viscera with an eye rake and then kicked at the back of the leg of
Viscera. Val
Venis then charged at the big man, but Viscera hit a huge side walk slam as the
fans started a small "Mabel" chant.
The finish:
Viscera went for a splash in the corner but Val moved and rolled up Viscera for
the three count out of nowhere!

Gene Snitsky vs. Danny Morrison
The music of Gene Snitsky hit in the arena, as he made his way to the ring for
singles action here on Heat against Danny Morrison, who used to compete in ECW
under the
name of Danny Doring.
The start:
Gene Snitsky and Danny Morrison locked up and Snitsky scored with a knee to the
gut and then clubbed the back of Danny Morrison. Snitsky then stomped away at
Morrison in the corner. Morrison went for a cross body, but Snitsky caught him
and took him down with a fall away slam. Snitsky hit a big clothesline in the
corner on
Morrison and then dragged him to the middle of the ring and hit an elbow drop.
The finish:
Gene Snitsky scored with a big boot to the face and then finished off Danny
Morrison with the Pumphandle Slam for the win.

Christian and Tyson Tomko vs. Rhyno and Tajiri
The music of Christian hit in the arena as he made his way to the ring with his
Problem Solver, Tyson Tomko, and they are set for action here in the main event
of Sunday
Night Heat against the team of Rhyno and Tajiri.
The start:
Christian and Tajiri locked it up and Christian wrenched the arm of Tajiri, but
Tajiri reversed into a hammerlock, which Christian reversed into a side
headlock. Tajiri sent
him to the ropes, but Christian came back with a shoulder block. Tajiri fought
back with a headscissors and then made the tag to Rhyno who hit a pair of
clotheslines and
then rammed Christian into the corner and followed up with a big back body drop.
The finish:
Tajiri locked in the Tarantula in the corner on Christian and Tyson went for a
big boot, but Tajiri moved and Rhyno hit the Gore on Tomko. Rhyno then sent
Tomko to the
outside, while Tajiri went for the Buzzsaw Kick on Christian in the ring, but
Christian avoided it and hit the Unprettier to pick up the win.
